I am more into table games than slosts. However, I gamble online since the Internet exists. Starbust has been around for a long time and this is one of those legends which no one know why exactly it is so popular, but is sticky, it is chunkable and it has been around for a while. Probably one of those mystery success that creators have not intended for, but it happend anyways. It ’s been rolled out in .country jusirsdioctios and I manged to try it out. Well - different color scheme, mind blowing multipliers, hugh volatility vs original low volatility. Is it a new rock star? Let’s see. For me this is a pimp uped corpse on steroids. Different make up, same crap.
Will Starburst XXXtreme be extremely popular? I doubt that this is a way to go and to me another nail in the coffin of legendary game producer, but time will show.
I love my gambling weekends. Nothing better than a decent table action with a decent bankroll. So here we go, a bit more than 1 Bitcoin bankroll for today and bets up to 0.2BTC at my favourite Crypto Casino Let’s roll!
These days slot games turned into commodity. It varies a bit, but safe to say that between 80% to 100% are the same games across all operators online. Majority of popular slot producers are the usual suspect that you can see anywhere: Netent, Playngo, Pragmatic Play, Push Gaming, Big time gaming, Nolimit, Quickfire and so on.
There are some exceptions, for example provably fair games. The concept is definitely interesting and getting a good traction, however implementation is primarily not very interesting from entertainment perspective, so I will not spend time on these in this article.
So, if you take, let’s say, Book of Dead by Playngo on Casino A and Casino B, would it be the same game? It will definitely visually be identical, but not identical overall.
What makes it different is one seemingly small thing – Return to Player or RTP. Typical RTP of a slot, let’s say, Book of Dead is 96.21% or Starburst by Netent is 96.1%. This is a long term math and it means that over time casino’s edge is around 3.8-3.9% for the games above. Of course a lot can happen short term, but long term over millions and millions of spins this is how it is going to turn out. Well, is that it? Not really. Casinos these days have a possibility to manually adjust those RTP percentages.
For example:
Starburst can be set at 90.05%, 92.05%, 93.05%, 94.05%, 95.05%, 96.09%, 98.05%, 99.06% Book of Dead varies between 89% and 96% Pragmatic’s Wolf Gold can be set at 88% and up to 96% Nolimit’s Deadwood at 94 or 96%
Typically casinos work with RTPs around 96-97% it has been so for a long time and remains so for reputable casinos. However, since the possibility to adjust emerged things changed and not uncommon to see 89% RTP in online casinos.
What does this mean for YOU? Simple, long term - significantly less gaming time and less fun. Your money will burn quicker. It is noticeable once a game is changed from 96 to 94%. Once changed to 89%, money is spent crazy fast.
How to find out what RTP you are dealing with? Several options:
Take care of yourself, research your casinos and if even small red flags – better be safe than sorry. Just navigate to another casino, so many other those. Take care and good luck!

As much as I love gambling, especially at Evolution Gaming’s tables, I also love to follow the industry. Once you understand the both sides of the coin” what works for player and also for shareholders - it is a good idea to use that knowledge to invest.
I adore almost everythign that Evolution Gaming does. Indeed they make mistakes, but who does not?
The company in a nutshell (in EUR):
Market cap: 33B
Annual run rate revenue: 1B
Annual run rate profits: 520M
Employees: 7000
Growth: grows like hell
My estimation about operators total revenue, who use Evo is somewhere between 7.5 to 9 Billion Euro and that would be rougly around 250-330 Billion EUR in bets.
Have a look HERE, just to have a clue how many concurrent players stick to Evolution - The True King!
New game, obviously the first byproduct of Netent aquired by Evo earlier this year. I was expecting it to be Starburst, but makes sense to do it with something else, if they expected high chances of negative outcome.
This is how Evo describe the launch in theier PR article:
“Evolution today announced the launch of Gonzo’s Treasure Hunt™, a ground-breaking online live game show and the world’s first live casino game to bring together live and slots-style gameplay, and the first with the option to play in VR (Virtual Reality) mode.
Inspired by the famous Gonzo character and intellectual property (IP) from NetEnt’s popular Gonzo’s Quest™ online slots title, the all-new Gonzo’s Treasure Hunt™ is the latest addition to Evolution’s live game shows portfolio. Blending the worlds of live and slots and representing “a whole new direction”, the new Gonzo live game show is the first Evolution game to use NetEnt IP following Evolution’s acquisition of NetEnt at the end of last year….”
I was very excited when I heard it coming, and considering two of the best of the breed game stuios… but when I actually played the game I felt a bit disappointed. I think this is a bit of of fail, very little fun experience, quite slow and even despite max 20000X win. Not sure I will play it again.
Evo, you’ve got to do a better job than that…..
Fro those who don’t know crypto is a big alternative monetary universe, a brave attempt, even more than attempt to make things independent of corporate banking world. All of this is based on blockchain which has other interesting implementations than just crypto currencies. You can google that up just on words I mention.
There are also couple of different type of crypto casinos, traditional casinos with all usual suspects, e.g. games from Evolution Gaming, Pragmatic Play, Netent and so on. What makes these casino crypto is purely that they accept crypto money. That’s it. There is another type - provably fair casinos, great attempt to use blockchain and crypto to make everythign super fair for gamblers. Great attempts, but games quality is low.
So, coming back to my choices and reasons:
Firstly, I play traditional casinos that accept bitcoin. Why? Simple. I like high quality games
Less issue with moving value. Crypto transactions is simple once you get it. And allows me to stay out of FIAT system and keep my gambling habbits private, banks would never know
I move large amounts of money, again much easier with Bitcoin or Ethereum than fiat currencies
Usually less id checks
In many cases better bonuses, less restrictions as for casinos it is significantly cheaper to deal with crypto comparing to fiat.
One important note, you have to choose you casino carefully, read reviews try with smaller amounts first and so on. The price of more anonymous and independent environment - more aholes, who try to take advantage of you.
I long looked for a great online bitcoin casino. I have a simple checklist: availability of bitcoin gambling, good VIP program, gambling license, speed of cash out, bet limits in live casino, good mobile solution, quality of customer service. Majority of casinos sell well, but when it comes to long term practice, you get upset quite often. Finally, about a month ago I found something where I am going to settle for long - Winz.io casino. They describe themself as a no wagering bonuses licensed bitcoin casino.
License: Yes
Accepts Bitcoin: Yes
Mobile: Good
Bonuses: No wagering bonuses
Bet limits in live casino tables: they take up to 0.15btc per bet
Support: quite ok, a bit rigid
VIP club: I got a very nice deal
Cash outs: lightning fast
Welcome bonus: quite generous, based on bets
Am I happy? Hell yeah!
Would I recommend Winz.io to friends? Definitely!
